The client is City of Gothenburg’s Cultural Affairs Administration. The library’s director, Jill Danielsson, outlines the considerable demands made of the joinery supplier:

“On a general level, because this is a building dating from the 1960s, there are important architectural values that need to be preserved, which naturally also includes the interior fixtures and fittings.

“It is also vital that there is good communication between the architect and the supplier throughout the project, not least when reality rears its head, requiring compromises and modifications to be made. The durability and quality of the products are another important consideration, as approximately 4,000 people visit the library each day.

“SSC is a well-known company with plenty of excellent references, including a number of other library projects, which gave us added confidence as the client,” concludes Jill.

Back at SSC, everyone is pleased to have once more been chosen to participate in a major cultural project.

“It’s an honour for us and provides inspiration. Moreover, this is a project that enables us to show off our skills in areas ranging from delivery of cutting-edge products and installation to project coordination,” says Maria Fjellström of SSC’s sales team.
