”It really feels like a positive action and shows we’re serious in our commitment to environmental issues. Above all, this certification means our customers can rest assured that we will be working towards developing products and services in an environmentally sound manner", says Joinex Managing Director Peter Forsséll.

Certification has also gone quickly.
”We started our environmental study in May 2007 and it included mapping the impact all the company’s processes have on the environment. We then defined the actions that we needed to take by listening to our staff, which had gone a course on basic environmental training, and drawing up a detailed plan of action. External audits have been carried out since then in August and then in the middle of November when we were given the certificate”, says Malin Eriksson, Quality and Environment Manager at Joinex.

Nearly every Joinex activity that impacts on the environment is included.
”It’s not just about handling our waste in the best way, it’s also about reducing our energy consumption and travelling as environmentally friendly as possible", says Malin.

Of course, all parts of Joinex are included in this environmental work.
”An important part is supporting our fabricators and thereby acting powerfully and purposefully together. That is to say, together with the environment just as we do with every strategically significant issue and challenge", Malin adds.

This work with the environment is generally integrated with Quality Assurance and Joinex sees this as a significant strength.
