SSC and Färnqvists sign cooperation agreement
| SSC Skellefteå AB and Färnqvists Inredning AB in Sala have entered into a strategically important agreement of cooperation. The agreement entails both companies, previously competitors, initiating intimate cooperation in the areas of sales and marketing. ”Now we can offer our customers a complete range of special joinery and interior fittings again. Färnqvists’ profile suits our sales of extremely advanced projects perfectly”, say Sven-Olof Holmström, managing director of SSC Skellefteå. ”We're leaving a large part of our marketing and sales to SSC Skellefteå and then we can concentrate more on our production. Our ambition is to eventually become a member of the SSC incorporated society", says Eskil Rautio, chairman and head of production at Färnqvists.
| | When Berglund Snickeri in Burträsk, previously members of SSC, went bankrupt in March 2004, SSC lost a significant resource for offering exclusive special interior fittings. This situation meant an opening for cooperation with another special joinery. ”Quite simply, we had a gap in our product portfolio. With their sound ability, Färnqvists amply fill that gap”, states Christer Hedström, sales rep at SSC Skellefteå.
Among Färnqvists’ more renowned objects are the sentry boxes at the Royal Palace in | Stockholm, the reception desks at the Museum of Modern Art, interiors for the Södertorn Högskola college, the Royal Library, the National Museum, the Nordic Museum and all the benches in the Stockholm underground. Before signing the agreement, SSC and Färnqvists tested each other with Färnqvists supplying the interior fittings to an exclusive laboratory at the new University Hospital in Trondheim on SSC’s behalf. ”It went off very well and we felt secure in carrying on with the cooperation”, says Hedström. ”The way we think about quality and estimating jobs turned out to correspond well with each other", says Eskil Rautio. The Sala-based company sees the cooperation agreement with SSC as a chance to increase production volumes. ”This setup gives us expansion opportunities. We're well situated geographically for SSC, who has many customers in central Sweden”, Rautio declares. ”This solution gives us added muscle on the market”, Sven-Olof Holmström concludes.
