| A 14,000 square metre cultural arena, Kulturens Hus, is being built right in the heart of Luleå. Among the facilities to be included in this new, magnificent, cultural building are the town library, an art gallery, a café & restaurant and two new technically/acoustically advanced concert halls where Joinex is the sole supplier of joinery and wooden details.

”We have the overall responsibility for this project and supply everything from glass partitions, doors, staircases and interiors to special details”, says Christer Hedström, salesman in charge at Joinex.
Special details include wood cladding for the ceiling, walls and balcony railings. These become even more special as they control and check the acoustics in the two concert halls.

”We contribute literally with some sensational things here. Among them are 246 wooden panels in the ceiling providing the basic acoustics. We’ll also be supplying 80 movable wall panels that will each be electronically controlled in order to adapt the acoustics to what’s being played, e.g. different musical styles. We’re also supplying wall panels with slits in to the library to attain a sound absorbing and quiet environment”, Hedström says.
These special solutions and the scope give this project a high degree of difficulty. Besides the localities already mentioned, Joinex products will also be found in crush rooms, offices and dressing rooms.
”It gives the customer a certain degree of confidence that we're taking care of everything - surveying/planning, advice, manufacture and assembly. They’re buying an entity from us and don’t have to split up their purchases, thereby saving time and resources. For us at Joinex, this total responsibility is an inspiration and something that is becoming more in demand", says Christer Hedström.
