SSC is targeting a completely new customer segment for its special fitments, namely the hotel and restaurant segment, and the venture has paid off. In Denmark, where the demands on fire resistant panels in restaurants are very stringent, McDonald's, through their turn-key contractor Fredbergs, have chosen SSC panels for four of their restaurants.
"We've also supplied and fitted the fitments in Pizza Hut's new restaurant in Norrköping," says Peter Forséll, CEO of SSC Skellefteå AB.

Fredberg's CEO Ingemar Fredberg observes that time is of the essence when renovating a restaurant.
"As a rule it must not take longer than 6-8 weeks from the start up meet-ing to the completion of the project," he says.
 Good coordination between the various contractors is also of vital impor-tance if a restaurant renovation is to run smoothly.
"The restaurant owner wants to stay open as long as possible during the renovation so the job has to be done in stages," explains Ingemar Fredberg.

On time delivery
Fredbergs has coordinated, manufactured and fitted the fitments in McDonald's restaurants in Sweden since 1986.
"In 2010 we won the contract for McDonald's in Denmark and chose SSC as supplier of fire resistant panels."
 The McDonald's restaurants that have so far been fitted with SSC's fire resistant panels are the ones in Copenhagen Central Station and Kastrup International Airport.
"This spring we're also erecting the same type of panel in McDonald's res-taurants in Nykøbing and the Fisketorvet shopping mall in Copenhagen," say Ingemar Fredberg.
 He is extremely satisfied with the deliveries from SSC.
"Despite the distance they always deliver on time and have high quality products."
 The fire resistant SSC panels are made from 12mm thick durable and pliable MDF boards. The fire resistant coating is permanent because it is done in a vacuum/pressure process that assures the correct amounts of fire retardant.
 Should the panel begin to burn, the impregnation melts and releases water and carbon dioxide.
"This along with the characteristics of the MDF board ensures that it just chars in an undramatic and controlled process," explains Peter Forsséll.  






Efficient and thorough
Pizza Hut is another of SSC's new restaurant clients. SSC's special fitments were supplied and fitted in Pizza Hut's twelfth restaurant in Sweden, which opened in Norrköping in late January.
"We went out with an broad invitation to tender and SSC's concept suited our needs best," explains Björn Källström, CEO for Pizza Hut in Sweden.
 He says that SSC lived up to the expectations with regard to reliability of supply and quality.
"They proved to be both efficient and thorough. Restaurants are tough environments and need to be planned to the finest detail," he continues.
 This autumn Pizza Hut is renovating one of its restaurants in central Stockholm and will also be building restaurant number thirteen somewhere in Sweden.
 Peter Forsséll is pleased with the positive start for SSC's hotel and res-taurant venture.
"I see great opportunities in this business area. It's very gratifying to see our special fitments in large international restaurant chains like McDonald's and Pizza Hut. This year we've entered the Finnish market where we hope to win several large hotel and restaurant contracts," concludes Peter Forsséll.
