SSC Joinex supplier to one of Europe’s largest hospitals

One of northern Europe’s largest hospitals will become even larger. Göteborg-based Sahlgrenska University Hospital is currently adding a brand-new, seven-floor care facility complete with 300 beds and integrated teaching areas. SSC Joinex will supply both products and expertise to ensure that the new hospital has the best possible functionality and quality.
“It is particularly inspiring for us that we can put our experiences to good use,” comments Einar Söderström, sales rep at SSC Joinex.
“Plus, we’re talking about several dimensions of experience. There’s the product aspect, which in Sahlgrenska’s case constitutes counters and an impressive number of cabinets, about 2,000 cabinets. But there’s also the aspect of how SSC Joinex’s extensive and far-reaching experience contributes to an even higher quality end result.”

The project is a turn-key contract. Construction contractor Peab’s framework specification steers the project toward an extremely high, overall level of quality. SSC Joinex participated regularly at this point to share its cutting-edge expertise in terms of special interior fittings.
“We talked with the buyer, Västfastigher AB, and the contractor to negotiate the best solutions,” says Einar Söderström.
“That’s correct. During the procurement process, we used the architect’s design and detailed drawings to prepare our contract with SSC Joinex. We teamed up with SSC Joinex and our fitting company to review these in detail. We found contradictions, quality improvements and simpler fitting solutions,” says Peab’s head of procurement, Mats Swenson.

| we also analysed the logistics, fitting details and other improvements on assembled prototypes. We then used this to present a number of improvements and potential maintenance issues we’d identified to Västfastigheter. Photos from full-scale tests were used to visualise the details and the recommended changes,” Mats continues.
With the deliveries arriving and the fitting process underway, Mats sees more concrete advantages of the close, dedicated teamwork.
“Among other things, we’ve been able to cut the fitting time by between 50 and 60% in many cases. Coordinated transports also presented distinct benefits in terms of logistics at the workplace. Any complaints can be resolved quickly and easily since we’ve accumulated our purchases with SSC Joinex. But above all, we received the quality we expected,” Peab’s Mats Swenson says in closing.
